Whole Body Cryotherapy
Three minutes at -110°C in dry, cold air. Full body, staff beside you the whole time.
What it is
Whole body cryotherapy is three minutes standing in a chamber of dry, cold air at around -110°C. No water, no ice bath, no wet clothes. You wear underwear or swimwear plus gloves, socks, a headband and a face mask, and a Freezlab host stays at the door for the full three minutes.
The cold is intense, but it is short and it is dry, which makes it far easier to handle than people expect. Most people walk out of that chamber more awake than they walked in.
Why people use it
After training
The most common reason people book. Cold exposure is widely used in sport to manage post-exercise soreness and to feel ready sooner.
Muscles and joints
Cold is a long-standing way to calm tired, overworked muscles and stiff joints. Many members use it on their heaviest training days.
Energy
Three minutes of cold triggers a strong response. Most people describe the twenty minutes afterwards as sharp, light and awake.
A hard reset
It is impossible to think about your inbox at -110°C. That is a large part of why people come back.
How a session works
Check in
Arrive ten minutes early. On your first visit you complete a short health screening and we go through it with you.
Change
Underwear or swimwear. We hand you gloves, socks, a headband and a face mask.
Step in
You enter the chamber. A host stays at the door the whole time and talks with you.
Move
Keep walking slowly, keep your arms moving. Three minutes, counted down out loud.
Warm up
Step out, get dressed, take a moment in the lounge. Do not rush this part.
Go
Most people head straight back into their day.
What to bring
Underwear or swimwear. Bring a robe, t-shirt or hoodie for before and after. Gloves, socks and a headband are provided, and so is a face mask, though you are welcome to bring your own.

What we know.
What we don’t.
Reasonably established
- Cold exposure reliably triggers vasoconstriction and a noradrenaline response, followed by a short-lived rise in alertness.
- Whole body cryotherapy is widely used in elite sport for post-exercise recovery and reduced soreness.
- For people who pass the screening, three minutes is safe and well tolerated.
Still open, or simply not true
- Evidence on longer-term outcomes is still limited and study quality varies a lot.
- It is not a treatment for any medical condition, and we do not present it as one.
- It does not replace sleep, food or training. It sits on top of them.
Safety & screening
Cryotherapy is not for everyone. You complete a short health screening before your first session and our team goes through it with you. If you are unsure, speak to your doctor first.

This list is a starting point, not medical advice. Freezlab does not diagnose or treat medical conditions. When you create an account you also confirm a general health declaration, which covers this list plus a few blanket conditions that apply to every session: any infectious disease, any chronic or acute illness in the last six months, and medication that affects your alertness or fitness to drive. If you are being treated for anything, ask your doctor before you book.
