Do not treat when you have

  • Pneumothorax
  • Pulmonary hyperexpansion
  • Eardrum perforation
  • Fever
  • Viral infection
  • Under the influence of alcohol or drugs
  • Pregnancy

Only with written clearance from your physician

  • Airway disease, including asthma or COPD
  • Blocked ear canals or sinuses
  • A history of middle-ear problems or eardrum surgery
  • Barotrauma or barotitis media
  • Optic neuritis
  • Congenital spherocytosis
  • Convulsions or epilepsy
  • Excessive carbon monoxide exposure
  • Decompression sickness
  • Claustrophobia
  • Use of Cisplatin, Disulfiram, Doxorubicin, Bleomycin, Mafenide, nicotine replacement, narcotic analgesics or steroids
